Laguna Beach, CA — The Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach is proud to announce a new creative partnership with students from Laguna College of Art + Design (LCAD), who recently designed and painted several original murals throughout the Club’s space.
The murals were created by LCAD students as part of a collaborative project that brought together young artists and local youth, transforming Club walls into vibrant works of art that reflect creativity, community, and self-expression. Each mural was thoughtfully designed to inspire Club members and enhance the environment where kids learn, grow, and connect every day.
“It is so awesome for younger people to see that you can make a living being an artist,” said Pam Estes, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach. “If they can see, they can be it! How much more Laguna can you get?!”
According to LCAD faculty member Dave VanPatten, the project also gave Club members a rare opportunity to witness the creative process firsthand. “Being able to see the process, understand that it’s achievable by a normal person, and recognize that it’s a viable career path is something the kids were able to experience firsthand through this project,” VanPatten said.
The collaboration highlights the shared commitment of both organizations to supporting youth, encouraging artistic expression, and fostering meaningful community connections. By working alongside emerging artists, Club members were able to see firsthand how art can be used as a powerful tool for storytelling and inspiration.
The Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach extends its sincere thanks to the LCAD students who contributed their time, talent, and creativity to this project. Their work will continue to inspire thousands of local youth who pass through the Club each year.
