Jazz Up the Gym

Our gym is one of the most important spaces at the Club. As we celebrate 75 years of impact, we’re working to create an even better experience for our youth for years to come.

Right now, thanks to the generosity of the Crevier Family Foundation, all gifts will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $25,000, doubling your impact.

Current State of the Gym

As the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach celebrates 75 years of service, our gymnasium reflects decades of impact in the lives of the youth we serve. Now more than 20 years old, the space is ready for meaningful reinvestment to continue supporting the next generation.

What was once a “nice to have” project has become a clear priority. The gym’s windows, flooring, and overall interior have experienced years of consistent use, and the space no longer reflects the quality of programming happening within it.

This is an opportunity to honor 75 years of impact by revitalizing one of our most active and important spaces—ensuring it continues to be a place where kids can play, grow, and thrive for years to come.

More Than Just a Gym

For 75 years, the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach has provided a place where kids can stay active, build confidence, and connect with one another—and our gym continues to be at the heart of that experience.

Basketball remains one of our most popular activities, bringing kids together in a positive, structured environment where they learn teamwork, discipline, and resilience.

For Erik Vasquez, Athletic Director at the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach, that impact is personal.

As a 3rd grader, he stepped off the bus and headed straight to this gym. Through basketball, dodgeball, indoor soccer, and capture the flag, he built friendships, learned life lessons, and found mentors who helped shape the person he is today.

Now, Erik has the privilege of helping create that same experience for today’s Club members—a place where kids can stay active, grow in confidence, build meaningful connections, and create lasting memories of their own.

By investing in this space, we ensure the next generation has the same opportunities to thrive for years to come.

The recent addition of a new gym divider—making it possible to host multiple activities at once—has highlighted the opportunity for broader improvements to the space. As we build on this momentum, additional upgrades will be completed in phases throughout the year to minimize disruption to daily programming.

Key updates include replacing aging windows, refreshing the gym interior with new paint, installing updated flooring, and enhancing the overall functionality of the space.

As we celebrate 75 years of impact, these improvements represent an investment in the future—ensuring the gym continues to meet the needs of our members for years to come.

This is a major facility improvement project with an estimated total cost of $200,000.

We invite you to give today to support this important
project. Right now, your gift can go twice as far, thanks to the generosity of
